Amy Roccia is an integral part of the Purple Esthetics Training team.  She is the woman behind the scenes! Amy started her career in the Esthetics industry in the late 1990’s, intrigued by an industry that was growing at a rapid rate. She enrolled and graduated with a full Esthetics Certificate in 1997, and has been a part of the community ever since.

During the early years, Amy worked in a few spas and really enjoyed being with clients. One of her favourite services was nails. Amy enjoyed doing nails and having the creativity to make art on a tiny canvas. It was around this time that Amy found Wendy at her then (small) distribution company, The Nail Supply Depot. Once the two of them met, there was no going back.  

Amy has been with Wendy in this ever-evolving experience from the beginning. She has worn many hats in the company and has had the opportunity to work in all areas of the business. As Amy has watched Purple develop and grow, she has been an educator, a part of the marketing department, customer care, and even Wendy’s right hand gal. Through all of these roles over the years, Amy discovered that her true love lies in the creative side of the business. Amy is now Purple Beauty Supplies’ Visual Merchandiser, and Education Coordinator for all products and classes in the Training Centre.

In addition to her knack for merchandising and display in the showroom, she works directly with Rachelle and Jennifer on the Training Centre side, along with all of our educators, to ensure a highly organized education facility.  A firm believer that you always need to be fine-tuning your skills and relationships in order to be good at what you do, Amy also has a studio in her home, where she continues to do nails and provide esthetics services. Life is busy, but she wouldn’t have it any other way!

The Magical Makeup Artist

Bonnie Lorrimer’s passion for beauty originated in 1996 when she started working for a makeup company. Realizing how much she loved making people look and feel fantastic, she decided to attend school to become a professional makeup artist, beginning a fabulous career in the beauty industry.

Once Bonnie completed her training she was instantly creating beautiful makeup, from bridal looks to extreme fantasy, scary Halloween creatures and natural day looks (and everything in between). As Bonnie’s skills flourished, so did her interest in the industry. She continued to pursue advanced education and training to allow her to expand service offerings for her clients, including becoming an NSI Nail Educator, and specializing in HydroPeptide Skin Care and HydroDerm Pro facials. Once in full swing, she decided to open a full service Aveda Concept Salon and Spa, offering makeup, hair, nails, facials, foot care and aromatherapy services.

Bonnie is a highly skilled and talented technician, whose work can be seen in magazines, such as Bridal Magazine. She runs a successful business, but also wants to share her passion and knowledge of skin care and makeup with students, to inspire their love of the creativity of beauty.

The NSI Nail Guru

Darlene’s love for nails began in 1992 when she opened her own business, and subsequently grew her clientele to a full time job. In 2008, she became an NSI Educator and in addition, took on the responsibilities of in house Educator for Purple Beauty Supplies.

In 2011, Darlene became part of the NSI International Team, where her role expanded to include participating in trade shows, conducting classes and demonstrating her love of, and skill with, nails.  Her role has once again expanded, making her part of an ongoing Research & Development Team with NSI. Her current role with them has earned her the title of NSI Global Educator.

Her experience and dedication to NSI has propelled Darlene to new heights. While she is now busy with training all over the world (in the US, Poland and South Africa to name a few), Darlene still continues to make her classes at PBS Training Centre a priority. Her love of nails and teaching has always been a focus. She is committed to her PBS students, and as our in house Educator for the nail program, feels it is important to always be on the leading edge of product and skilled technique.

Jannesa Yong-Morris is a CIDESCO certified Esthetician, wife and mother of two young boys. She has always felt drawn to the industry. Jannesa always strives to improve her training and knowledge in this rapidly changing profession. As an Esthetician, she feels that not only enhancing beauty but providing a therapeutic approach to services is very healing and rewarding not only for her clients, but for her as well.

Over the years Jannesa has had the pleasure of working for a well-known spa where she gained a tremendous amount of experience and knowledge. During that time, she continued her journey in exploring other modalities and expanded her training to include professional lash extensions, micro-blading, teeth whitening, and permanent makeup.

Currently running her own business, she finds joy in impacting the lives of others through beauty. Whether to clients or students, sharing information and services that can enhance their lifestyle has become an integral part of her life.

As an educator for the last 4 years, Jannesa has developed a knack for making learning fun. She is known for the unique and entertaining environment she brings to her students in the classroom. She is a wealth of information on services, ingredients, hygiene, health, new trends, and is always found helping students and customers with their questions.

The Gatekeeper (Customer Care Manager)

Jennifer Lieshout has been a part of the Purple Beauty Supplies group for over 12 years. She was originally a client, working part time in the industry as both a nail and lash technician, and would often come into Purple to visit and purchase supplies. Jennifer loved the atmosphere and especially all the exciting new products Wendy would always have. She has an infectious energy and a great personality.

In 2006 Jennifer joined the Purple team.  With her fabulous people skills and attention to detail, she was a perfect fit for Wendy’s vision. Jennifer thrives on offering excellent customer service and ensures that each person is taken care of. She is usually the first person you see when you walk into the Purple showroom in Edmonton, always ready with a smile to greet you and answer any questions.

She spends her free time with her two boys and her three dogs. Jennifer has an obsession with vintage jewellery and loves to make old things new again. In her spare time, she often scours thrift stores, looking for that one of a kind but neglected piece, which she refinishes to look as though it was crafted yesterday. Her favourite colour is Teal (and Purple, of course), and she is an expert when it comes to style.

Jennifer is also the front line of our Training Centre. In addition to being the Customer Care Manager at Purple Beauty Supplies, she also takes care of all class booking details. If you are interested in a career in the esthetics industry, she’ll welcome you on your first step to success!

The Lash Lover

Kierra has had the privilege of working in this industry for 20 years. She started her career as a makeup artist, specializing in bridal makeup. As she cultivated relationships, she decided to expand her portfolio. Ever the self-driven woman, Kierra earned an esthetics diploma and worked her way to becoming Spa Director at one of the most recognized Spa/Salons in Edmonton in fairly short order.

After 11 years in the industry in this role, she decided to start sharing her knowledge with others through education.

She has never looked back! Kierra has become known in the industry as “The Lily Anne Lash Lady”, and loves to make people feel beautiful, inside and out.

As an Educator, Kierra is one that teaches everything, but she specializes in Lashes and Brows. While she still works full time with clients; whether it be performing facials, laser treatments, foot care, hair removal, makeup artistry, or microblading, her passion remains with lashes.  

“Lashes, Lashes, Lashes!” Everything about them: lifting them, tinting them, and making beautiful extensions, is what she loves best.

Her goal for each student is to provide them with the knowledge, tools and confidence they need for a successful career in this exciting, ever growing and changing industry. She loves to share her experience and enthusiasm, and inspire students to constantly learn, grow and work hard.

Mallory was always into beauty from a young age. Born and raised in New Brunswick, she moved to Edmonton in 2012. Once in Alberta, she took a great interest in esthetics. After attending Marvel College, Mallory dedicated her time to perfecting her skills and building a clientele within the industry.

Because she has also always had a passion for travel, shopping, makeup, and adventure, Mallory wanted to have the best of all worlds, creating a career where she has the freedom and flexibility to do all the things that she enjoys. As a successful business owner for the past 7 years, doing sugaring, permanent makeup, and nails, Mallory has found a perfect harmony in her work life balance.

While operating her business, Mallory has always felt she had something more to offer then just skill and technique. As she started to help others create opportunities to follow their own dreams, she realized that teaching was a way to do this. Today, Mallory is an Educator for SugarSmac, as well as with Purple Esthetics Training Centre.  She brings both her professional training and experience to the classroom every day, to encourage her students to seek the rewards that come with working hard and not giving up.

As a sugaring specialist, she values the art of sugaring, and recognizes the time and energy it takes to master the techniques. She not only helps in the classroom, but is dedicated to ensuring each student leaves Purple with the confidence and understanding of how to be the best they can be as a service provider and entrepreneur.

Maneesha Fraser believes “looking your best for your age” is the most important element of skincare. With these two thoughts in mind, Maneesha works tirelessly to help people find new ways to benefit from the latest advancements within the medical/beauty industry.

Maneesha entered the beauty industry 32 years ago, as a Professional Makeup Artist, specializing in photography & bridal makeup.  Continuing to develop her skills, while raising 2 children, Maneesha worked and educated as an esthetician, wardrobe consultant, and specialized in business etiquette at Marvel College.

During the 90’s, she decided to step away from the industry and pursue an opportunity to work for Child Social Services. Being away from the community of esthetics allowed her to realize where her true passions lie. She discovered a greater desire for personal growth and a need to nurture others. With renewed determination, Maneesha went back to school full-time, becoming a Registered Massage Therapist, and soon built her private practice working out of a Medical Spa.

In 2008 Maneesha took on the role of Spa Director to Dr. Poon and was pivotal in building New Image Cosmetic and Medical Centre. Following that, she co-founded Skin & Body Solutions Medical Spa, while continuing her education in all areas of Medical Esthetics and Life Coaching.

As she continued to grow in the industry, her ability to develop strong relationships, coupled with her vast knowledge and business development expertise, made her a perfect fit as an Educator.

Maneesha remains focused on continuous improvement, and always keeps a close eye on the latest technologies and procedures available. She is dedicated to sharing her mastery with her students.  In addition to teaching, Maneesha continues to consult and assist both individuals and corporations in development, sales, and training programs.

With over 20 years of experience in the beauty industry, Rachelle Redix is dedicated to providing students with the knowledge and passion that she has for the industry. Raised in a salon/spa, she has had the opportunity to work in many different aspects of the beauty world.

She started as a licensed esthetician/nail technician in 1998, then proceeded on to apprentice in hair styling, and eventually transitioned over to the business side. Over the years Rachelle has had many opportunities to travel and work in North America; educating, working trade shows, and conducting business seminars for distributors, salon owners, and managers alike. Now in her 13th year as an Educator, she still makes time to work on clients regularly.

With her knowledge, understanding, and ability to lead, Rachelle does her best to ensure that her students leave confident and comfortable with the new skills they have developed. Having three children, who are all very different, she recognizes that no two students are the same in terms of how they learn. Rachelle takes the time to create a learning environment where each individual can flourish, and achieve results.

With her strong commitment to serve, she is delighted to offer future estheticians the opportunity to grow and master their craft through the Purple Esthetics Training Centre. Rachelle believes that ongoing skill development is very important and, that a genuine desire to help people is at the root of this industry. She continually stays on top of industry trends, and is always looking for new ways to improve our education department.
